MY PICK:
I'm leaning toward vignette 1 on this one. Of course I tend to favor more mid century modern styles and this one certainly touches that. Maybe it's my obsession with red right now, but I love using a 'pop of color' to add some flare to a neutral space. It feels clean and minimal, but still radiates energy.
DESIGN REVIEW: A CLOSER LOOK
A Nod To Mid-Century Modern:
Vignette 1 is all about mid-century modern. MCM spaces tend to have a timeless quality that emanates luxury. In this case, some of the timeless pieces include the bed, bedside table, and perhaps the Bauhaus art.
I am not a big fan of using wall art but sometimes we can make exceptions. This vintage poster dates from the Bauhaus era (1920s) and adds a bit of pattern too. A good scent is always a must-have by the bed and this fun one by H&M Home will suffice. The tortoise glass got me!
Make It Cozy But Still Have Energy:
A simple area rug will ground the space and make it feel cozy. In this case, I went with a darker chaste rug to play off of the bedside table. It also adds some contrast with bed upholstery. Adding a 'pop of color' can go wrong sometimes and might feel theme-y. It should expand a color palette or complement it well. A red accent chair plays off of the dried florals. Notice the slim tapered legs. We have them on the bed and chair but not the bedside table. This is strategically chosen so it doesn't feel 'too leggy.'
Make It Feel Luxurious:
A fresh plant, or in this case faux, adds some life to the room. We don't want to overdo it with the styling. Add your favorite books and a tray to put your jewelry, phone, and other daily essentials.
It's The Small Details:
I love a wool rug for a bedroom. They add a soft and warm element, which is essential for a cozy bedroom. This space is perfect for someone who likes to keep it clean and minimal. The muted beige color scheme feels calming but adding darker furniture it makes the room feel dynamic.
