THE INSPIRATION:
I was on browsing for table lamps on Anthropologie recently and came across this lamp with handles - loved it! It has an old-world look yet a modern feel. The price was $248 so I challenged myself to make one for much less!

PROJECT SUPPLIES USED:
- old lamp base
- Oven-bake clay
- cutting knife
- cutting matte or scrap cardboard
- baking sheet
- E6000 (the clear one)
- Masking tape
- Sandpaper
- Henry's Feather Finish or here
- Cement color pigment (more info on adding color to cement here)
- Paintable caulking OPTIONAL (not used in video but can be used to full any gaps)
- New lampshade
I am in love with the result! The handles really take it to the next level and makes it look like vintage pottery. You can take this project further and do the do the dirt technique to to give it some patina. You can also use paint (or whitewash) to add more visual texture.
