Looking for new cane dining chairs for your home? Check out these hand-crafted pieces that are taking over the internet for a reason.
When it comes to creating a stylish and inviting home, choosing the right furniture pieces is key. A chair is what brings personality to a space. A while back I discovered the Capitol Cane Armchair (in Brown Teak) by Treehause, inspired by the great Pierre Jeanneret chairs. I couldn't be more excited to share my honest thoughts with you. Here is my honest review and if these chairs can work for your home.
Before we dive into this review, I want to be clear that this post is not sponsored. It's an honest reflection based on my experience with these chairs over the past two years.
CRAFTSMANSHIP THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES
The Capitol Cane Armchair, handcrafted by skilled artisans in Indonesia, continues to captivate me with its attention to detail, particularly the hand-woven cane elements that add an air of sophistication to any room. But what truly stands out is the enduring quality it embodies.
The truth is you can tell something is handcrafted - in this case take a look at the handwoven cane detail. It's beautiful just like the original Pierre Jeanneret chairs. I have seen similar reproductions but the machine-woven cane kills the look in my opinion.
COMFORT FOR EVERY SPACE
While I initially used this dining chair as my occasional office chair, adding a cushion for extra comfort was key. I've found the chair to be a versatile addition to many areas of my home. While it may not be the absolute coziest option for sitting all day, its unique blend of style and comfort makes it an ideal choice for bringing style to a home office, dining room, or any space in your home needing a chair.

DO THEY HOLD UP WELL?
Now, let's talk about how well these chairs are holding up two years later. Overall I must say, I'm impressed. They've maintained their structural integrity, with no wobbling or creaking, a testament to the solid craftsmanship. The hand-woven cane detailing, which initially drew me in, remains almost flawless. What's more, the chairs have taken on a unique patina, growing even more appealing as they age gracefully.
It is worth noting there is slight color discoloration at the tip of the arm edges but is not very noticeable. This is due to them rubbing up against the table. Honestly, I think that's not bad considering I use these every day.
OTHER PIECES YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT!
I recently added a few more pieces to my collection from the brand, including these stylish stools inspired by Charlotte Perriand's Meribel stools. I must admit, I have a soft spot for stools because of their incredible versatility. Whether it's for seating, propping up your feet, or even serving as a convenient accent table that can be easily moved around, they do it all.
Mixing different wood tones adds depth and character to your space, and with the Meribel Stool, I opted for an unfinished look to let it age gracefully.
