Can we talk?! Chai tea is amazing. Horchata is amazing. So why not marry both! My dear friend just revealed this idea to me and had to try it. Now I'm obsessed and so will you!
You will need horchata and chai tea concentrate. I have found the best ratio to be 1:3, with horchata being 3, but you can add as much chair as you'd like! Check out my vegan horchata recipe below!
Simple Horchata
Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cup long grain white rice (dry uncooked)
- 1/4 cup almonds
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 cups cold water
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups soy milk (or alternative)
Instructions

Blend the rice, almonds, and cinnamon in a high-speed blender. Blend until fully pulverized, stop and mix around if powder sticks to the bottom.

Add in 2 cups water, vanilla and sugar. Blend for about a minute. Transfer to a large container and add remaining water and milk. Mix well.

Cover and chill about 10 hours.

Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher and serve with ice.
