6 THINGS TO THRIFT FOR:
1. Patina Metals
Patina metals come in all shapes and sizes. In particular, vases made of metal can add unique character to your space. Embrace the rustic nature and add some dry florals and branches.
2. Stone Objects
Stone objects are very popular right now. We are seeing them in charcuterie boards, bowls, among others. Feel free to repurpose their intended use. For example, I found this quartz wine cooler. It can easily be used as a utensil holder or even a vase!
3. Colored Glass
According to Pinterest Business colored glass will be trendy in 2021. Although I am not a fan of trends, I feel like this is such a small thing that does not require flipping your house upside down. Pretty much most thrift stores have colored glassware. You can incorporate some pieces here and there.
I found this amazing amber bowl (I think it's a vintage ashtray?!) and can look great on top of some coffee table books.
4. Cocktail Glass Sets
Beautiful cocktail glasses are a great way to style your bar, elevate your drink presentation, and honestly just have fun with entertaining. Don't save them for special occasions. Use them because that is what they are made for!
Do you drink cocktails?! I don't, but who cares! Check out these amazing cocktail glasses I scored for $5 (for a set of 20)! They do not have to be used for cocktail drinks. I am using them for parfaits, desserts, and other snacks.
5. Lamps
Lamps are all the rage right now! We are seeing more transitional styles making a comeback throughout our favorite designers. The two lamps in this photo are thrifted. One is vintage and one happened to be from IKEA. Can you guess which is which?! For just a couple dollars, you can score a high quality lamp and maybe even vintage.
How to upscale a lamp that has a good shape but bad color: Add a coat of spray paint and a new lamp shade to create a brand new lamp. You can also apply a whitewash by mixing white paint and water to freshen up an aged lamp.
6. Brass Candles Holders
These are not as popular as I thought they would be, but they should! Vintage brass candle holders are very inexpensive, but add such a rich quality to your decor. The patina of brass is very elegant and can make your home feel lived in.
If you see them at the thrift store, GRAB THEM! They will for sure add interest to your collection.
