11 GENIUS IDEAS TO MAKE YOUR BEDROOM HIGH-END COZY
1. Use Comfortable Lighting
Lighting is a big factor when it comes to creating a cozy mood. Set the right ambiance with a couple lamps to avoid overhead lighting. Consider a bedside sconces instead of traditional table lamps for a designer feel.
You can use a couple low wattage bulbs (2700K-3000K) throughout to avoid harsh light. Use a sexy overhead light or chandelier if necessary. Layer a couple soy candles (maybe flameless) to make your room glisten.
2. Paint Your Walls
It's amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do. White paint is a great choice for a minimal or more neutral room. My favorite is Pure White from Sherwin Williams because it's not too warm or cool. Matte or eggshell is a great sheen for your walls.
3. Hang Curtains High
Curtain placement is huge! If you hang curtains to the width and height of your window, you are limiting the the feeling of the room to be small. Hang them to the ceiling (or almost) to add visual height . Make sure they are 14-24" wide starting at the edge of the window to make windows appear larger. White window treatments can freshen the room. Dark curtains will give a cozier vibe. Use blackout curtains for a darker room.
